Pee on sofa!

Hi all. sorry if this has been done before but couldn't find anything after a quick search.

My DD has been poorly with a bug and was lying on the sofa all day dozing while my mum babysat. I got home from work and she had obviously wet herself and the sofa was stinking but my mum hadn't noticed (?!).

Anyway, tried to clean it but only had Dettol surface spray which I soaked the sofa cushion in and tried to clean.

This morning, the smell is 10x worse! Is there anything I can do? Am near a big Tesco so any suggestion gratefully receive. Living room is smelling pretty rank...

TIA

Are the covers not removable? WHen this happened to us, I took the covers off and washed them...then, I took the foam cushion inside out into the garden and doused it in hot water with biological detergent in it.

I pummeled it and squeezed the water through and then repeatedly poured more on. Then I flipped it and repeated. I propped it to dry on a towel by the radiator...standing up.

It's fine now.

Thanks for reply. I have taken the cover off and soaked it in warm water with biological washing powder and also soaked the cushion. Weather too awful to take outside so have left it by the radiator. Hoping the smell disappears...

Do it in the bath. The smell won't go at all it will only get worse as bacteria grows.

Try sprinkling bicarbonate of soda over the sofa/on the carpet around the sofa etc, leave for a while and hoover - it might help to absorb the smell
