Changing sheets on top bunk

What a PITA Shock

Totally hadn't considered that when I got the bunks Grin

I actually take the mattress out of DD2's high sleeper to change the sheet - it's easier to sort it out at ground level than try to wrestle the sheet on in situ, and it makes sure I turn the mattress over regularly Grin

Yep complete Pita. Child Labour helps a little. I have taught DD1 (6.5) to remove bottom sheet and to put 2 difficult to reach corners of fitted sheet back on. I then stand on a chair to put the other two corners on.
I also invariably bang my head doing the bottom bunk.

Dillydollydaydream · 20/03/2013 11:14

My ds has a mid sleeper, I hate changing the sheet hadn't considered that when we bought the bed!

Hattifattner · 20/03/2013 11:16

no one EVER thinks about changing the sheets when thinking "Bunk beds? Im a genius!".

I used to take the mattress off, put the sheet on in, then return the mattress.

ArseAche · 20/03/2013 11:18

I did this just now! Hate it. It is a high sleeper as oppposed to a bunk, but I climb up go to the far end, slip the sheet on, then work my way back putting the other corners in.

I also employ child labour, but dad from the top bunk is 9 so I think this is reasonable. I do the duvet she does the sheet and pillow cases.

I was hoping one of you would have a magic solution.. Will just have to suffer on till dd is older

I get more pissed off with the sheer weight of bloody teddies I have to remove from DD 2 and 3's neds to change them! DD1 has one special ted who lives in her ebd and that I can cope with. The other two seem to favour quantity over quality and have half a toyshop each in their beds. They hate it when I change their beds because I just lob the teds onto the floor then tell them when they come home to get upstairs and restore the teds to the beds!

magichamster · 20/03/2013 12:48

Ds has a mid sleeper and through bitter experience I have learnt to use double sheets on the single mattress. It's still awkward but at least there's not that stretching thing to do.

PatriciaHolm · 20/03/2013 12:56

DH has to do ours! I just can't reach.

AnAngelWithin · 20/03/2013 12:58

My kids do their own beds :-) I am lucky.

AnonymousBird · 20/03/2013 13:19

It's a total pain to do!! No easy way around it.

Which reminds me, I need do our two sets of bunks before the end of the week - deep joy.

And Poledra - yes, the number of flippin teddies at both ends of the bed and DD is completely OCD about their seating and lying arrangements!!!!!!
