Washing Jellycat soft toys

Has anyone put their DC's Jellycat teddies in the washing machine - and did they live to tell the tale?
They say 'handwash' but I'm tempted to chuck them in on a delicate cycle.
I just don't want them to lose their gorgeous fluffy softness!

I have. They came out fine.

Did cold wash and put it in one of those laundry bags with a child's wooly jumper in it also.

If you don't have one of those make sure machine isn't too under loaded. Our spin cycle can destroy stuff if there's not enough in machine.

Don't put the penguin in, the dye leaks. Other light coloured jelly cat stuff has gone through fine.

That's great, thank you. Think I'll get one of those bags, never would have known about underloading the machine. When you say 'cold', do you mean 30degrees? That's the lowest temperature on my machine.

Ooh X post with bluey. We've got the elephant (grey, obv) and the spider (black). I guess I'll just put them in separate loads with lights/darks.

The rabbits wash fine, just make sure you put them in the dryer to get them fluffy again. We have one medium sized white one that has been washed many many times and is still as soft and fluffy as new (was a favourite when DD1 was in and out of hospital, and still often comes along for scans etc, DD1 is now 7, had it since she was 2). The smaller grey one (DD2's) is a little matted now, but the fur was shorted to begin with. There is also a huge (50cm) white rabbit of DD1's that lives at school. This rabbit would sit in her place when she was off school ill, and has spent the holidays with us! Huge rabbit has been drawn on, had it's ears pulled off, generally got quite sticky and mucky from being in a year 1 classroom and has been washed and dried at least 3 times and still looks like new (I stitched the ears back on). At least it did when I last saw it - I think she's been living in a cupboard since September!

I've put loads of them through on the delicates cycle & have all lived to tell the tale! I then tumble-dry on a low heat to restore fluffiness.

I have washed the Jellycat Cordy Roy lion on 60 degrees Celsius in a pillow case and tumble dried him on the low heat setting. The drier worked wonders on his coat, which can get a little flat after a wash. Ditto a Jellycat Chums Elly elephant. They were both fine. I can't speak to whether or not the colour can ruin other items in a 60 degree load, as I wash them separately. The pillowcase was fine, but I would not risk a load of laundry. I recommend the drier, as they can otherwise take too long to dry and become smelly.
