Removing tomato stains

Dd has just started eating tomatoes but is very messy and so the juice goes everywhere. I washed a tshirt last week that had stains on it and they haven't come out. I wash at 40 with bio. I also sprayed stain remover before washing it.

Can I do anything else or just have a special 'tomato eating shirt'? Grin

Hang it up in the light, sunshine is best, but normal daylight works too. Stain will disappear - works every time.

If you can line dry (I know, I know, bit of a fantasy in this country at the mo) then sunlight, or even just daylight, bleaches out tomato stains like magic.

I find a bit of washing up liquid rubbed into the stain before washing works better than those spray stain removers. Wet the stain with cold water first, put a dot of washing up liquid on the stain, then rub well in. Wash as normal.

If it cant go on the line I just put it by a window.

I second the washing up liquid tip. De-solv-it spray is also good at getting stains out but I try washing up liquid first.

Ooh lots of tips to try. Thanks!
