how to get sweat smell out of a wooden floor

Can anyone please help me clean our floor??

We have a wooden floor in our guest bedroom. A few weeks ago we were given a used mattress by a friend. I washed the mattress cover and the "inside" part of the mattress sat on the bedroom floor for 1-2 days while the cover dried. I put the clean cover back on and put the mattress on the bed. Ever since then there has been a horrible stale sweat smell in the room. It goes away if the room is aired, but returns with a vengeance when the window is shut.

We have thrown the mattress out (!) and washed all surfaces in the room. DH has scrubbed the floor with hot water and cleaning product several times. This morning we've tried putting baking soda on the worst spot, to see if there is anything soaked into the floor. No signs of damp yet...

Does anyone have any tips for how we might be able to get rid of the smell? We can't possibly use out guest room until it is gone Sad

PS it probably wasn't clear, but the problem area of the floor is where the mattress was sitting while it's cover was washed.
