Washing machine and white spirit!

My son dipped his favourite toy in some paint, I cleaned it carefully with a small amount of white spirit and bunged it in the machine with a load.

Big mistake! The whole lot stinks!!

I'm on 3rd load, done hotter wash, used soda crystals... Still smells...

Have I ruined the lot?!
Any magic tips?

you'll know better next time.

i think if you line-dry the clothes on a sunny day, the traces will mostly evaporate. Don't put anything contaminated with solvents like petrol or white spirit in a tumble drier as the vapour is flammable and may explode.

Thankyou for your reply, I won't tumble and will air tomorrow, it's soaking in baking soda at the moment!
