What do you keep your DC's school books in?

My DS14 keeps his school books in the dining room in a plastic crate. It just looks so untidy and his sister will be starting secondary school in September so the problem will be doubled.

He used to keep them in his room but that just didn't work with books being left all over the house.

Has anyone got any ideas of a way I could store them all easily? I was thinking of maybe a plastic type drawer thingy but am open to suggestions.

Shelves outside DS room, else kept in his backpack.

DD organises own stuff within her room, I wouldn't dream of suggesting anything or touching it.

I like plastic crate idea, probably am no help.

Ah, but I see you were happy for him to read THG already, oh well, we probably have different perspectives.
