Went out today and forgot I left a pan of meatballs on the stoveSad. Came back to a house full of smokeBlush. Fire brigade came and all ok but the house really smells. Any ideas how to get rid of the smell?

You are going to have to re decorate I'm afraid. No other way round it. I hope You are all ok Thanks

Thanks, all ok as kids were at school. I have boarder line asthma but have stopped coughing now.
Cut onions up all over the house as recommended by firemen but still smells really bad. Hoping not to have to redecorate. The upstairs is worse than downstairs Sad

lots of open windows

wash curtains and soft furnishings, sponge all hard surfaces with flash and wipe off, shampoo carpets.

Walls and ceilings, wash off with sugar soap and repaint after a while.
