How to remove biro?

So after 6 weeks or so DS1 finally finds his PE Top at school today - his nametape still firmly sewn in to the collar - BUT we find someone else has written their name in Biro on the 'name' tag near the care label.

So - how can I get rid of this name? I wonder if cutting off the tag might be easiest - but I don't want it to look like we've pinched the top and put our name in it........

I've not washed it yet so hope the biro has not been 'set' - but how to get it out.......?

biro will not wash out.
that is what I use to mark school kits
I would cut it off and maybe use a biro to write his name on the washing tag or just under the collar.

meths. Mix it with a little washing up liquid and don't let it dry out while it works.

Hairspray is your friend in this situation!
Spray liberally so the material gets quite wet.
Rub in between your hands iykwim.
The ink will look like it is spreading, but keep rubbing.
Wash.
Most of it should be gone but it may need another cycle.
I have used this method on numerous pen leaks in shirt pockets, and am always amazed at how it gets the whole lot out.

Any cheap hairspray will do, save your good stuff. WinkWink

I've heard that milk will remove it. Sounds bonkers but worth a try. Hopefully brio and not laundry pen.
