How many of you dyson owners

Actually wash your filters every 3 months?

I have just washed mine after 12 months - I know this because I was heavily pregnant and 'nesting' the last time I did it!

It makes a huge difference to the suction strength. So I would recommend doing it, if you haven't for a while. it is like having a new vacuum cleaner.

I do mine every 4-6 weeks. Rinse out under tap, bang to get rid of build up (repeat a few times), leave to dry in the sun on a windowsill. I also wash the inside of the dust-collecting bit, and remove hair etc from the roller bits.

Really does improve the suction.

A bottle brush is handy for getting right inside the drum.

We own two dyson models. We've got the a stand up one and a hand held one too. HOnestly, best investmetn EVER! bX

I read this thread earlier and was inspired to do it for the first time since we bought it nearly 3 years ago! While I was at it I cleaned the cylinder and drum thing too, it was manky!

Also the clip holding the hose to the handle is broken (only affects using the tool attachments) so I called dyson who are arranging a replacement part under guarantee...thanks op, a good days work!

So can you wash the plastic dust collecting bin too? Think I'll give it a go as ours hasn't been doing well recently...

I've had my Dyson for 10 years and have cleaned the filters once (about 5 years in).
