My tumble drier stinks! Any ideas what to do?

Hi everyone. I have a condenser tumble drier which I don't use very often (maybe once a fortnight). Recently, thanks to a horrible sickness bug, I have been using it alot and I've just noticed that it's starting to really smell like stinky socks! Any ideas how I can get rid of this smell and make it all fresh and nice again??

Thanks!

Have you cleaned the fluff filters on it? Worth checking as if they aren't clean you can get fowsty smells, and clothes take a lot longer to dry.

Clean out all the filters, take out the condenser unit and run under a tap to get all the dust out. also wash out the water container with detergent. Try using those tumble drier sheets if that doesn't help.

I've been cleaning out the filters, but hadn't thought of washing the condenser unit. I'll give that a go and see if it helps! Smile

and leave the door open to air when not in use.

Wipe the inside with dilute white vinegar, wipe once again with a damp cloth, and leave the door open while it dries.

I put essential oils on a damp towel and tumble if I've left damp washing in ours.
