Best steam mop with attachments? Don't let me buy a duff one!

So I've decided that our house needs a steam mop! We have lots of parquet floor and karndean, with some laminate and not a lot of carpet.

We have 2 bathrooms and utility room that is tiled as well as a double oven and 5 ring hob.

I'm after a good steam mop that can do the floors but also has the right nozzles and attachments to cope with the kitchen and bathrooms.

If it could do windows as well that would be a real bonus!!

Hope we can get ourselves sorted with an amazing mop that makes our homes sparkle with minimal effort!

Yes do you think they really are as good as they look on the tv? X

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 21/02/2013 21:56

I got a Morphy Richards one last week - came with lots of different attachments and was half price on amazon at circa £90 I think...

Am on phone in bed but will post link tomorrow.

I am impressed with it so far and I used one of the attachments to clean windows (inside)

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 21/02/2013 22:04

Sounds good - the price and the attachments!

Any thoughts on this one?

I couldn't be arsed with all that faff. I have a decent £30 steam mop that does floor and carpet and a decent £30 hand held that does everything else. Much easier for use and storage Smile

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 21/02/2013 22:23

Links please?!

This steam mop from poundstretcher. Which is basically the same as the Vax S2.

And

This beauty

Which is particularly amazing on the oven, amongst many other things.

HotPinkWeaselWearingLederhosen · 21/02/2013 22:34

The mop is currently £29.99 in poundstretcher

jazzcat28 · 22/02/2013 11:38

Morphy Richards one here

It's actually £65.99 reduced from £149.99 on Amazon.

I think it's pretty good and unclips from the main body into a hand held option. I ordered from Amazon requesting the supersaver 3-5 day delivery option and it had arrived in 2 days by courier. Was v impressed.

plum100 · 22/02/2013 12:16

Can i ask whether i can use these on laminate - and how long do you have to wait for the floor to dry?

DrGoogleWillSeeYouNow · 22/02/2013 13:48

I bought a 7 in 1 Vapour X700 off Wowcher this morning. I've spent months researching steam mops/cleaners and reading reviews, but nobody can recommend an outstanding winner, so I figured for £59.99 this one was worth a try.

LivingInAPinkBauble · 22/02/2013 21:51

Have a Thane x5, it is amazing! Cleans carpet and curtains too.

loveapple86 · 05/09/2014 01:58

This steam mop can help you.
I have one and I think it is the best

minkah · 05/09/2014 11:11

Trying to find the perfect steam mop is a head grater. Reviews are so mixed, there's so much room for personal opinion/preference difference.

Just have to bite the bullet and go for best price and good enough reviews.

Hollycopter · 05/09/2014 11:18

There was a massive thread in chat a while ago by vicarinatutu, loads of people bought the morphy Richards 9 in 1 on her recommendation, so did I and I love it.

I lent it to my mum and she liked it so much she bought the 2 in 1, which is nearly exactly the same as the 9 in 1 as far as we can tell, all the same features and atachments, just a different on/off button, colour and it's cheaper!

Lally112 · 05/09/2014 11:30

I borrowed one of those X5 things from my bosses house (while she was away- haha) and I didn't expect much because from what I understood she bought it from a qvc type channel (and shes always buying useless tat from qvc type channels) but I was surprised. it had more attachments that I had use for and was really quick and easy to put together.

was used on floor tiles, then wall tiles then the whole kitchen and bathroom and it did a really great job but I don't know about laminate, sorry.

pengymum · 05/09/2014 14:31

My sister has Karndean but was told you cannot use steam cleaners on it as will melt the adhesive and make edges curl up!
Confused

pengymum · 05/09/2014 14:35

Oops posted too early by mistake!
I have a fantastic steam cleaner - Polti Lecoaspira Program which is vacuum & steamer in one. It takes a little longer time than just vacuuming but sucks up all the dirty water at the same time and leaves everything sparkling clean AND dry!
I luffs it! Grin

Jinglebellsarenearlyhere · 05/09/2014 14:47

Look at a thread from vicarinatutu (i think) - it went on for ages all about steam mops - dont know how to link - otherwise I would. Title had the words holy grail in it!

BucktoothedGirlinLuxembourg · 05/09/2014 14:54

I've got the X5 one. It's pretty good. There are loads of bits for it though, which is in one way a good thing but does make it a faff to store.

alemci · 05/09/2014 15:02

the Morphy Richards one with attachments is ok but tbh I haven't bothered much with extra bits.

Hollycopter · 05/09/2014 15:45

Pengy - my mum has karndean flooring and uses the steam mop on it without any problems so far. She just doesn't keep it on full steam as she cleans it.
