Wax crayon on armchair!

Black and very scribbly! I haven't attempted anything yet, thought I'd wait in case there was any do's and more importantly, don'ts, with wax crayons. It is a cotton (feeling) material. I guess it must be cotton?

Any help gratefully received.

And while we're at it, bolognese sauce on cotton tablecloth which can't be washed...
