Ambi Pur plug in refills............ARGH :-(

Oh I'm so annoyed.

I bought three ambi pur volution units and some extra cartridges; they weren't cheap but we were trying to sell the house and I wanted the place to smell fresh.

I did hesitate at the cost BUT refils would mean it was a worthwhile purchase as I might need to do a viewing as soon as I geet home from work and although I don't notice any animal smell, but with dobermans, two cats (elderly and keen on botty burps) and three goldfish, I felt it would be nice to have some air fresheners. I'm not really blaming the goldfish but hey I do see the bubbles come up!! ;-)

However Proctor and Gamble seem to no longer sell the refills as I can't find the vanilla ones anywhere on line.

I'm currently laid up with my leg in plaster so can't get to the supermarkets but I've checked Tesco, Sainsburys, Waitrose and none to be found on line.

I will be straight on the P & G in the morning but hold out little hope. OH well I guess it's a lesson learnt............

Sorry had to get that off my chest before DH hears nothing but this all through dinner........

p.s. does anyone know where I can pick any alternatives refills up? before I get the "I told you it was a waste of money" look from DH

The less current stuff often sells through discount stores like Home Bargains, B&M, Poundland, etc. I wouls ask all your family and friends to watch out for you.

Are these the ones where the refill is a small glass bottle with a kind of large material wick type thing sticking out the top and you stick this into the plug?

I don't use them myself but a friend of mine does and instead of buying the expensive refills, she takes the 'wick' out of the bottle and refills with her own essential oil and water mix. Much cheaper and doesn't run the risk of not being able to find the correct refill in the shops.

TGD,you may have hit the nail on the head!! I didn't realise that you could get the little bottles out of the plastic casing! I thought it was a sealed unit but with a bit of a wiggle it comes out and I can remove the bung and fill them up YAY!!!

I will of course tell DH that I knew I could do that; well it was obvious wasn't it

TV I'll also take a look at those stores too as I can see the plastic becoming weak with constant removal.......

Oh Oh Oh I've just realised that I don't need to take it out of the plastic holder I can take the bung out anyway :-) but I'll still look for reserves.

is it true that they catch fire?

Apparently they can do if the oil runs out but you still have them plugged in.

I was told by a fireman on a LFB safety check to just make sure that I didn't let them run dry.

I know one person who had a very small fire from one catching light. Luckily it was daytime and he was home.

I still use them though, just carefully.

Hello, I can't find the vanilla online either. I think they are the best ones. Have a look in the poundshop, my local one has vanilla so hopefully your local may have them too. Different poundshops do tend to have different stock but hopefully they will have them.
