How do I stop my wandering rug?

I have a short pile carpet and a rug with a woven back in my hall to protect the carpet as it's a high traffic area, but they do not want to play nicely together Sad. I end up with a wringled rug and a dirty carpet.

I have tried rug tape, but it doesn't work - it doesn't stay stuck to either.

Short of physically nailing it to the floor (and I'm tempted!) can anyone recommend an alternative?

Look on amazon- they have lots of diff stuff for rugs slipping on there - get one with best review!

I have a thing I got from Dunelm, it's from the fabric section and they cut me a piece the size I needed. It's like a piece of white felt that attaches to the floor and rug. I do have a wooden floor (well, Karndean but same diff) and it works very well on that. I imagine it would be ok for carpet too.
Word of warning tho, make sure the rug is in precisely the right place otherwise it's a bugger to shift once it sticks!
