Stinky washing machine... How to clean?

I have a washer / dryer and every time I use it to wash or dry there is a horrible smell. I've cleared the filter and run an empty wash. It's relatively new as well - prob just over 18 months.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I use liquid for washes and nothing else, so can't see a block in the drawer

When you say you run an empty wash, what temperature do you do it? You need to try a boil wash, or 90' or as close as you can get.

Ah! Thank you. I ran it at 40, so will try a hotter wash. Should I add anything?

liquid does not contain any bleach and will make your drum dirtier and more prone to smells than using a powder. Clean the filter, the dispenser drawer and the bit the drawer fits into. Clean the rubber seal. Run a 90 degree wash with vinegar or soda crystals.

Second a boil wash with the addition of white wine vinegar.

you dont need white wine vinegar as bog standard white distilled malt vinegar will do fine

I was told that liquid isn't as harsh as powder so allows fungi and stuff to grow leading to the smells. Iif you change to powder you will not have the same problems.

I think you are supposed to run a 90 degree wash once a month with nothing in to keep the machine clean too.

Thank you all very much!
