Cleaning greasy floor

I need to give the kitchen floor a good scrub, but its still leaving a greasy film (stone tiles). Any suggestions for a cleaning product or method?

Steam cleaner.
Once it's really clean, possibly try slate oil if it's suitable for your tiles. Stops them getting stained again.

I really want a steam cleaner (and have just got a tax rebate!!) but I want to lift the grease off do you think it will work?

Dry the floor with an old towel.

If you have a cleaner that is specific for kitchens - Cillit Bang is a really good one - spray that on the floor and mop with plain water. This will cut the grease. But drying it with a towel will really help prevent any film deposits.

I tried the cillit bang liquid and though it made it worse! Will try the spray. !

If it made it worse, then don't try it. Unless it's an entirely different product. The stuff I'm talking about is specifically for grease in kitchens. But, it may be slippery and need to be really rinsed off, and then dried off. A basic Flash floor/general purpose product ought to work. But rinse with hot water and towel dry to be sure.

I am so pleased with my steam cleaner. It cleaned my tiles in ten minutes, whereas i have previously spent hours on my knees with a toothbrush and bleach with no discernible improvement. Have you got a friend with one you could try at no cost?

A drop of fairy liquid and a drop of dishwasher rinse in hot water and wipe with a towel after. Is your mop clean before you start?

I swear by ecover lemon cleaner, it tackles bathtub much instantly!

A squirt of washing up liquid and a sploosh of soda crystals. Works a treat.
