changing sheets

my new years resolution is to be more organised with housework so basically how often do you change the sheets on yours and dc's beds?

I mean to do it once a week, but realistically it's more like once a fortnight .

LillianGish · 21/01/2013 18:24

I also aim for once a week, but choose a time when I have time to get everything dry, put away and beds remade. Everyone in this house has a bath before bed anyway so don't feel too bad if it's a bit longer.

IDismyname · 21/01/2013 18:26

Once a week here.

littledolly · 21/01/2013 21:32

Always once a week here - would do it more often if I could as I love getting into a bed with fresh sheets Grin

DewDr0p · 21/01/2013 21:42

I alternate - ours one week and dcs the next - would love to do them all every week but this seems to be more achievable.

NotGoodNotBad · 21/01/2013 21:44

About once a fortnight, sometimes slips to a bit longer. Once a week would be nice if the bed fairy (or DH? yeah, right!) did it instead of me...

surroundedbyblondes · 21/01/2013 21:46

Once a week here

MousyMouse · 21/01/2013 21:57

just like dew
and lots of airing every morning and evening.

WillSingForCake · 22/01/2013 11:17

Once a fortnight.

lorisparkle · 22/01/2013 11:56

thanks everyone. I think once a fortnight is realistic but will aim for more.

Our bed is changed every 10 days or so. Dsd has fresh sheets once a month (she only sleeps in them every other weekend so only 4-6 nights) and we keep her room well aired/tidy/the cat and dogs out.

fussychica · 22/01/2013 17:00

Weekly in summer, probably 10-14 days in winter - no tumble drier.

KeepYerTitsIn · 22/01/2013 23:33

The dc's beds are changed every weekend, I change my bedding every 3 days-ish as I have night sweats and can't bear the thought of smelly dirty sheets. Also wash duvet and pillows every 2 or 3 weeks.

ComradeJing · 23/01/2013 00:28

Every week but trying to change twice a week as it's so bloody hot here and we don't have ac.

bluecarrot · 23/01/2013 01:24

Weekly -DDs on Tuesday, mine on Wednesday. I don't have a tumble drier!

chanie44 · 23/01/2013 10:41

Every other week here - just don't have the time or space to wash them every week.

Pendipidy · 23/01/2013 10:48

Keep - you wash your duvets and pillows every two or three weeks?! Shock

bluecarrot · 23/01/2013 11:15

Does she mean duvet cover and pillow cases maybe?? And the two sheets get washed more often?

KeepYerTitsIn · 25/01/2013 05:47

Hi, no I really do wash the duvets and pillows that often - have to, they'd be really unhealthy otherwise I think as I really sweat lots in the night, wake up drenched.

ScaredySquirrel · 25/01/2013 06:14

weekly here - dcs on fridays, mine on Sundays. I love sleeping in clean sheets too and would do it every couple of days if I had a housekeeper!

BigGiantCowWithAKnockKnockTail · 25/01/2013 06:24

When I'm being organised I do sheets and pillow cases weekly and duvet covers fortnightly, for no other reason than that's what we did at my prep school and it kind of stuck in my head!

SureFineWhatever · 25/01/2013 06:38

For our bed, I aim for weekly but more realistically it ends up fortnightly. Dcs are in cots so theirs get done more frequently, usually more than once a week esp if spills or spews.

It's supposed to be sheet changing day today (Fridays). I've got approximately six hours to do it. It probably won't happen.

pumpkinsweetieMasPudding · 25/01/2013 06:54

Once a fortnight.
