Doing kitchen soon and want to fit in a dishwasher but only have room for a slimline. Not sure whether to go for integrated or not. Any recommendations?

I have never had any problems with my free-standing Bosch. It will be 7 in April.

IndigoCat · 20/01/2013 17:25

Freestanding Bosch and hot point have been ok for me.

LegArmpits · 20/01/2013 18:27

Yup, freestanding Bosch been going 6 years. I've cleaned the filter once.

I just got a Beko DE2542 off Appliances Online. It was under £200 and is absolutely fantastic. Very quiet and has all the features of a more expensive brand. I am so happy with it. Looks smart too.

Integrated Indesit bloody fantastic.....
Cheapo as we had had bad experiences with Bosch and Smeg.
Very quiet cleans like a dream and it is on 3-4 times everyday.
Paid for itself many times over.

Allofaflumble I have the Beko DE2541 probably the model before yours and its brilliant, got it about 2 years ago from Tesco under £200, We also looked at Bosch and John Lewis make but the Beko had good reviews and was cheap so we got that.

Sorry, but NONE. You should make room for a full size one. Unless you are single and intend to remain so. Where is the point in having a dishwasher with room for all the plates, cups and bowls (if you are lucky) but no room for the saucepan and baking sheet? So you have to fill the sink with water and wash up.... d'oh! Sorry if I sound bitter. I am.

SunbathingintheRain · 22/01/2013 21:51

Yes, second the Beko recommendation from Appliances Online. Cheap but brilliant, enough space for us just about (small family of 3 plus baby).

Thanks to all. Looks like a free standing Beko or Bosch then or integrated Indesit - have read some reviews and they sound good. Had a bad experience with Indesit - so a bit loathe to buy one of their appliances again.

gemma this is the first time I've not had a dishwasher in 34 years and it's killing me! Thanks to a massive downsize I will be struggling to get a slimline in - absolutely impossible to get in a full size one, unfortunately.

I had a Beko one a few years ago, it was truly amazing and I was surprised by how much stuff it took.
