Oops. Beige carpet + tomato soup HELP!

Just tripped on the stairs carrying a mug of tomato soup. It's gone everywhere! Have got it off the walls and banisters. The carpet however. . Any ideas? Have soaked it in water and mopped it up with a towel but not looking good.

What kind of carpet? Wool? synthetic? mixed fibres?

Try getting a pad of kitchen paper, placing it on patch and treading on it with shoes on. Repeat until most moisture is absorbed. Then try a bit of spray on carpet shampoo?

Any accidental damage cover on the house insurance?

Biological washing powder/liquid in some warm water and gently rub from the edge of the stain inwards. Once the stain has gone do it again with clean water and then cover with a clean towel and tread on it to absorb as much of the water as you can.

Thanks. We found some carpet cleaner hiding at the back of the cupboard and tried that. Have to wait until it dries then vacuum. Fingers crossed! Not convinced though..
