My Deep fat fryer (Fryday) Hmm has just blown after just 1 yrs use. it was a gift, so im hoping to buy my very own first one, as usual there seems to be hundreds out there, they do all sorts. According to "which" it seems the 'Phillips Airfryer' is the best, uses very little oil and costs an eye watering £116!

So i would welcome any advise on which one to get, i use it for chips and fish mainly and i certainly dont have £100, i've been told by mil that they now do ones with a removable Fryer ? Old one was none removable.

This thread is very old now, but if you’re here looking for a fryer to cook fish and chips to perfection, we’ve recently updated our best deep fat fryer page with plenty of great Mumsnetter-approved options that aren’t too pricey. We hope you find it useful.

We've just bought an actifry. Heard better things about it than the air fryer. Only made chips so far but they're quite good Smile whatever you get be aware that air fryers of Amy type take much longer to cook than your conventional deep fat fryer.

Oh thanks, do you know why they take longer ? I'll definitely look up the actifry.
