If I put a feather pillow in my washing machine, will it break it?

I know this sounds like a silly question but it is very heavy when wet and I can't risk breaking the machine as our landlord is an arse and would take ages to replace it. It is a 6kg washing machine. Also, should I wash it on 60 or 40 degrees? Thanks.

does it say on the pillow that you can machine wash it? If so, then it should be ok. If not, washing it might ruin the pillow rather than the machine

I have a 6kg machine and wash feather pillows in there, one at a time. Wash on 60. Do you have a tumble drier? that is the most important thing with washing pillows.

Yes, I have a tumble dryer.

Just make sure you tumble dry straight after ( or can start to smell a bit damp in pillow) and also that sufficient room in tumble dryer as pillow will expand as it dries, if it gets too big it blocks the tumble air flow.
