John Lewis own brand are very good. They are made by AEG.

Me too. Mine pissing water everywhere. Watching with interest. I had an indesit which was cheap and lasted 8 years.

My washing machine man says Bosch are very good - he would recommend an entry level model.

They are also easily repaired - he fixed my 13 yo washing machine for £50 and it's as good as new.

In contrast the AEG tumble dryer broke down after 8 years and cost £££ to fix.

Buy anything except Beko and be vary of rebranded Beko rubbish.

Bosch are certainly a very reliable brand

If you buy from John Lewis they give a two-year guarantee.

Learn how to empty the pump filter before you lose the instruction book.

I also recommend putting the powder into the drum rather than the drawer, and doing periodic hot hot hot service washes with a cup of washing soda and no powder.

I have the Argos Pro Action washing machine. £159. Brilliant. It washes clothes just how a washing machine should Smile
