I seem to be quite useless at thinking about solutions to help store/hide items around the house.

I have just seen a PIC of a friends dining room and there is a standing unit sectioned by squares that would be great for the kids toys. Instead I have them pushed up against walls, fireguards etc.

I live in a 2 bed terrace with a loft conversion, so no space there. We have no garage or shed. I have 4 kids, and 3 are pre schoolers.

If I'm not drowning in a sea of toys, I'm droning in material clothes bedding towels

Please help!

Ikea is your friend. Especially the deep (38cm) book cases, they can give that 'square' effect reasonably cheaply, they look good.

Chipping I've been to IKEA a few times, but I don't see it. I've seen the block bookcases a million times but I've never thought - toys!
Its only when I see them in their use, like the PIC of my friends dining room.

I'm just missing the storage link, I just don't get it! or im just thick-

Sassy - do you mean you can't find it at Ikea or that you don't see it being good for storage? I'm confused.

We did the play room in it, we had 4 units on one wall and another bigger unit with an open bit on the other wall with book cases each side. We chose to do that as it gave them an area to play on/store taller toys as well (I think from memory it was designed to house a tv). We put the 'double width' height extenders on the top and put doors on those but left the others open. You can put doors on all of them if you prefer.

Sorry chipping, I don't mean either of those things!Grin

I mean I'm missing the storage/tidy gene. It Nevers occurs to me until Simon shows me.

I wanted lots of ideas and tricks about storage for toys bedding clothes etc, but I seem to have confused everyone. Confused
