My washing machine keeps getting grease stains on clothes

Random I know.

This has happened for the last year or so, mainly (bizarrely) on DH clothes. Sometimes clothes come out with small grease like stains on then & they are impossible to get out. This has ruined several of DH clothes & we can't afford to replace them. Anyone else experienced this & have any idea what ig might be?

TIA Smile

I am assuming that you keep the drum and drawer clean with service washes, but if it was black mildew it would sponge off.

the bearings in your washing machine drum are worn out. Black grease and tiny metal particles are coming away in the water.

Don't put anything Nice in the washer. If it is newish and/or a good brand see about a repair. Otherwise save up for a new one.

It will not get better, it will get worse.

Ours was doing this a few months ago, and also screeching when the spin cycle was going. The repair guy likened it to the sound of a plane taking off. Anyway he said exactly as the previous poster said, one of the ball bearings at the back of the drum had shattered and broken the rubber seal meant to stop them getting into the wash. We had to get a new machine because apparently the cost of fixing was more than the machine was worth.

Definitely the bearings. We have the same problem and can't afford to replace at the moment !
