Top 3 Household Jobs

Hi all,

Just wondering what everybody's top 3 household jobs are, ones you HAVE to keep on top of above anything else!?!

Mine would be:

  1. Cleaning the dishes
  2. Clothes washing
  3. Sweeping the kitchen/dining room floor

So it wouldn't be something like cleaning the windows for me!

Mine are:

  1. the dishes
  2. kitchen surfaces
  3. bleach the loo

Hi lucytails

Do you bleach the toilet daily? Also when, at night before bed?

I normally put it down before i jump in the shower in the morning and then flush it away when i'm finished. It only has about ten minutes or so but that keeps it looking clean with little effort, and being a microbiologist i know thats ample enough time to kill all the germs too.

bakedsarah · 23/12/2012 23:05

Ah right less than ten minutes to kill germs. Why do they always say leave overnight then?

oh and mine are:

1 - dishes
2 - kitchen
3 - bathroom

mamab30 · 24/12/2012 11:25

Lucytails, Ooo so if you DO leave it over night does that have any reverse effects or doesn't make difference?

  1. Laundry (I don't have dirty laundry basket - everyone brings down laundry at least daily and sorts it into laundry bags of whites, lights, brights and darks. I put a load on as soon as there is enough in a bag/then dry/iron)
  2. Kitchen - Dishes (mainly dishwasher loading/unloading/odd bit of hand washing and wiping surfaces) and emptying bin (wich is done at least once a day and combined with de-pooing the lawn)
  3. Whole house tidy (everything where is should be/beds made etc)

I find if I can keep on top of these three then the other daily/weekly/monthly jobs get done more often with less mental effort!

  3. Washing

I have a cleaner once a week who does bathrooms, hoovers whole house and does kitchen.

summerglory · 28/12/2012 16:18

Mine are
Keeping kitchen clean & spotless
Keeping on top of laundry
Keeping lounge as tidy & clutter free as can be

madgered · 30/12/2012 19:03

Kitchen
Laundry
Dog poo pick up around the garden on route back from dog walk.

lubeybooby · 30/12/2012 19:06

Clean kitchen worktops/sink

Empty bins

Clean litter tray

If those things are not done, the rest all goes to shit.

Do the above every day and also washing, hoovering a couple of times a week and I'm fairly lax about other things.
