I want to do a maintenance clean of my washer. It is less than fresh after washing muddy PE kits and cat pee towels...

What thread? One about a maintenance wash in a washing machine?
It just means to run your machine on a hot wash without adding any clothes or soap.

or you can add vinegar or soda crystals as well as doing the hot wash

I wasn't sure which programme to do as my hottest 2 are over 2 and 3 hours long. Didn't want to do it at that length of time if not the right one.

as long as it is hot it doesnt really matter which programme - my hot wash is 90 degrees
