What makes Xmas for you?

I think I have it covered. Presents, food, decorations, family ect.

I asked my husband this question and he said turkey and sprouts. So I thought right then no problem.

But with two kids you wonder if that makes the best Xmas for them.

So I was wondering what is it that makes it for you?

As always cutting back not cutting out.

This year I cut back on everybody except my DCs. I decided that Christmas was about them and therefor concentrated on their gifts. Before I know it they will be too old to believe in Santa and I can cut down then!

In terms of myself, Christmas is about being with family, not being at work, good food (prepared by someone else) and a few glasses of wine. I can live without anything else, although a stocking is always good.

Xmas Smile

What makes Xmas ..
arguments!
YOu know it's not Xmas until you've had The Xmas Argument about something insanely trivial.

TBH I like a simple Xmas - but DH LOVES cooking extravagant food in vast quantities whereas I'm quite happy with a couple of brussels, a bit of turkey and lashings of gravy and a vat of wine!

DC opening their presents and their general excitement! I love my 12 year old asked me last night 'C'mon Mum tell the truth is Santa real?' Xmas Grin

I didn't lie, I just told him the truth which is 'well I seen him when I was about 7 flying through sky on his reindeer' (vivid imagination as a child)

Nice decorations, Christmas tree, candles, being with friends and family, nice food, playing boardgames all together, dc opening their presents.
I love Christmas. Xmas Smile

And of course the smell of Christmas: cinnamon, oranges/tangerines, allspice, roast Turkey, cranberries ...
