Next VIP sale

Where am I going wrong?
whenever I get online for the sale, there is nothing left, that I want to buy. Or the site crashes or slows right down. Then I still have to go to my local Next for 5am and get in the scrum for the sale. I usually spend around £150 at the Sale but manage nothing online.

As always cutting back not cutting out.

i think it depends if you get a good slot hildy, if loads of people have been on before you all the best stuff has gone. As for the site crashing I dont know about that one. Your much braver than me going to the store at 5am though Shock

It doesn't make any difference. I've had the first slot and logged straight on and all the stuff i'd earmarked has gone.

I think it's just luck, sometimes the stuff you want is all gone but other times you get lucky.

Have the VIP invites started going out ?

The online sale is becoming a nightmare I have found that I write lists and then the computer is so busy by the time you get in quite often let's of the items are sold out!! More stressful than the store sometimes!
My top tip is that I write 2 lists sometimes 3 depending on how much stuff I want!! Lol
You can place more than one sale order as long as you are within your slot.
List 1 I have my top 5 really must have items! I order these first, often trainers or designer perfumes and other expensive items
Then list 2 and 3 have less important items. You do have to pay multiple delivery charges but tbh it's worth it to get what you want as you still make huge savings also your saving on petrol/parking etc too
No sign of any VIP slot yet although a friend of mine sent me an email to register your customer number for a VIP slot, not sure if that's something new?
Must be within the next few days tho I keep logging into my account to see if I've got one at regular intervals during the day, as sometimes it's on your account hours before you actually get an email

It really bugs me that you have to get a Next Directory in order to get a VIP slot. I have a Next account and use it a lot but I stopped getting the Directory because it's just big and stupid and it got recycled as soon as it came through the door.

I agree totally, I do have a directory and was thinking of cancelling it, until I read the sale criteria, truth is I never look at it, I always order online it just gets in the way. Online is better as it always has the latest 'new in' items etc you can zoom in on items and read reviews, you shouldn't have to receive a directory.

I asked on the Facebook page yesterday if any slots had been issued and they said no but to keep an eye on the inbox. I think we will all know by Wednesday.

I have always got 90% of what i wanted, i often get a slot (try and get the earliest slot), i write down all the item numbers and then go to 'quick shop' and type them in. Also i often do it in 2 orders (so the stuff you really really want first and then go back for the stuff you wouldn't mind having) if you phone up Next they will only charge you one lot of postage.

Slots should go out wed and thur, keep logging into your account to see if you have got a slot.

I dont really want to buy much this year (as kitted the dd's out at Boden a few weeks ago using 2 codes), i think Next quality isn't as good as it used to be.

Had a quick look at boden sale this morning, not much I really wanted, tbh most of the stuff I would want from next are already sold out so won't go in the sale, tring to look through things I like online and writing them down so I don't end up impulse buying like I usually do lol

Mee too getting really fed up now!!! Grrrrrrr I really thought it would be today didn't really expect the slots to be over the weekend which I expect they will be, they are being very cloak and dagger on Facebook about it too just saying you will hear by the end of the week....I Want to hear NOW

Slots rarely go out before a wed, could be thursday. I will be checking tomorrow Smile, slots might not be until sunday.

It's definitely live now, I just got a slot for sat at 5pm. Will settle down with a cuppa and browse the preview later and then be disappointed on sat when its all gone already

Yes!!! I got mine at lunchtime started browsing and there is lots of stuff I have mY eye on ;-) 5pm on Saturday, lets hope the site runs smoothly for us!

Just say that 'you placed 2 orders and you were wondering if they can just charge one lot of postage?' if they question it tell them 'that the site kept crashing and you were worried you would lose the items in your basket so you did it in 2 orders' (the site often does run slow or crash which is why i place 2 orders). Good luck, and i hope you get everything you are after. I have listed all that i want, i just need to split into what i want and what i need (and go for the 'what i need' first).

Thanks for the tip, I'm useless at the next sales really as I quite often miss out on what I've had my eye on but this yr I've made a list of all the catalogue numbers and am just going to type them into quick search. Trouble is that I've 6 people to clothe so my 'need' list is rather long!

I always seem to get most of the items on my list, it is frustrating when my laptop runs slow or the site crashes (and i start to panic), one year i could no access my acount at all and i missed out on a lot of things (had to order over the phone but took me half an hour to get through), now i have the pc and the laptop ready just incase Smile.

I usually kit both dd's out but this year i'm not that keen on the kids clothes (a bit too grown up and flowery) so i might treat myself to a few things, i need a coat and some jeans so they will be first on my list.
