Help! How do I get bath crayon off tile grouting?

ZhenThereWereTwo · 10/12/2012 18:35

DD1 and her cousin decided to draw a rather large mural using the bath crayons at bath time.

I now have red and black bath crayon on my tile grouting.

Any tips to get it off gratefully received.

Have you tried bicarbonate of soda its great for getting plastic toy marks off the bath tub..

Do you have any shower spray and kitchen/bathroom scourers? That usually does the trick, either rub in small circular motions or wipe down after leaving the spray on the marks for a few minutes. HTH

Have tried bathroom spray and elbow grease and also bicarbonate of soda.

Might have to give bleach solution a go.

Thanks.

We had this last week. And they've just been grouted a month ago.

I have left it as was hopin DH would do it (he gave her the crayons). But, I noticed yesterday it seems to have disappeared. Only a faint mark now and lost its blue colour completely.

Will try the suggestions above. Thanks!

Regrout using one of those grout pens?

ZhenThereWereTwo · 10/12/2012 20:43

Never heard of a grout pen will look it up, thanks.

Mine doesn't seem to be fading and it is everywhere as they literally covered every surface up to a certain height!

Dsd did this a few years ago. It took an old toothbrush and some Cif to get the crayon out and it was then followed up by a dousing in thick bleach to remove the last traces.

The crayons got binned never to see the light of day again. Angry

If they are a waxy crayon you could use a sticky stuff remover as it will dissolve the oils. I don't know what bath crayons are made of.

White emulsion does this!! A quick clean with Method Tile and Bath prepares the surface well.

WD40 takes crayon off lots of things. Never tried it on grout, though it'd be my first point of call. grout is a tricky one as it's quite porous, so I guess it's more prone to staining.
