how much laundry do you do?

I am expecting dc3 and dh has finally realised that I am really struggling and started to help more around the house. Today he expressed surprise at me doing two loads of laundry in one day, and that there was always laundry needing washing or drying or sorting. Part of me is thinking 'ha! Now he knows what I actually do!' and the other part is worrying that maybe I'm doing it all wrong somehow. So how much laundry is normal for a family of four?

There are four of us and I wash every day or it builds up. No tumble drier either so it's on an airer.

I do save whites up until there's a decent amount.

Weekends are worse as I have 3 football kits.

Two DC and me here - probably do three or maybe four loads a week.

Well, I've done 2 today, but then I've been able to get it dry on the line!
And DH has done 2 loads since I left for work last Sat, so thats 4 loads in 8 days between 4 of us.

There is nearly a white load ready to go, but only cause we went swimming, so we have an extra white towel - the other 3 are dark and have been washed.

I can sometimes do 3 or 4 loads per day and have to do at least 1 wash a day to keep on top of it. I do exercise classes 4 days a week, dh goes to the gym 4 mornings and plays football twice a week so there is always lots of dirty gym/football kit to wash. The kids also have school uniforms, gymnastics stuff and also swimming kit once a week.

Well we have 3 dc one is in washable nappies so that's an extra load every 3 days. I do at least one wash a day. Mainly 3 loads a day - then bedding etc adds up to 3/4 washes if nice weather and I can dry it easier

Two a day usually... sometimes more if there's towels or bedding. There's 3 and a baby in our home :)

I'd say at least 8 loads a week. I always blamed the kids. It dh has been away 4 days for work and I've only needed to do 1! Dishwasher has only been on once too. Hmmm....,

Before baby I did 3 on a Saturday. I'm now doing 3 a day. I realised beforehand that I would have her washing as an extra. I didn't realise she would vomit over my clothes too.

At least one load per day, plus nappies every third day and towels/bedding weekly. We got a 9kg machine and it is a miracle! I've halved my washing time!

We're a two adult one child and one baby household here

8-10 loads per week for 5 of us I think.

2 darks
1 colours
1 whites
1-2 bedding
2 towels
1 delicates

I find it really helps keep on top of it if I put a load on first thing and then straight away put away as much as I can from previous day's wash.

At least 1 load a day but mostly 2 their are 4 of us.

Change bedding weekly 1 double bed one kingside 1 single all washed seperate due to different colours also have dog blankets to wash it the only way I can keep on top and get it all dry

It's me, DH and two DCs (toddler and baby) and it's at least one load every two days, plus bedding and towels every week. Seems to have doubled since DD2 arrived!

2 towels, 2 bedding, 1-2 clothing washes per day so between 10-15 wash loads a week. Me, DH and 1 year old twins

For four of us I would guess I do 9/10 week.....

Alternate days I do a dark and light wash and once a week all sheets and towels which is another 3 loads.

I'm fussy though and we all have clean pjs and full set of clothes daily

in this house, face flannels and hand towels need washing more often than bath towels. Chances that after a bath your body will be pretty free from grime, sweat or cosmetics.

Family of 6 here, 1 in washable nappies, 2 in school uniform

I do 2 washloads most days, with no wet beds etc. Bedding doesn't get washed as often as I'd like. I don't separate whites - just undress kids in to washing machine at bathtime!
