Attempted to clean my oven yesterday and got cleaner in my eye (who's stupid idea was using a plastic brush that will flick cleaner at you while applying it... Or is it just me?)

After a trip to a&e, follow up today and a week of antibiotic ointment to apply I have given up.

Going to get someone in the clean it to start, but what can I use/do that is non corrosive to keep it clean once made gleaming?

Electric oven, with fan.

I've started using this after excellent reviews. This melts through everything, even the burnt on grease spattered oven door. Plus it's chep as chips.

I could kiss you! That is perfect, and very friendly to people that shouldn't be allowed cleaning products without supervision the environment.

I buy that in Homebargains for 85p.

I use Oven Pride. The racks go in a bag and you can spread the liquid on the sides etc - no flicking needed!

It is indeed brilliant OP, you can thank me later :o
