Which steam mop?

Hi,

I'm thinking if getting a steam mop. Should I? And if so, which ones are best? Budget anything up to £100ish I guess unless it makes cups of tea and empties the dishwasher for me too

I want one too. I would like one that does carpet too.

I have the Vax S2 and like it. Great if you have a large expanse of solid floor. I have conservatory, kitchen, bathroom, lounge and entrance porch - all next to each other and all solid floor. Mopping was a massive undertaking, but it takes no time at all to steam it. If it was only one room I'd be happier mopping, but not for a large area.

I'm eying up the Bissell Steam and sweep. It looks good but I don't know how good it is overall

I liked the idea of that Bissell Steam and Sweep doing it both in one but don't know whether it really does it that well? Does anyone have one? Half the reviews I read loved it, half said the sweep was poor. But the reviews were really evenly split! Like marmite

I bought the Holme steam mop from Asda and it's not great to be honest. Doesn't seem to clean up anything of the floor. We have a shiny black porcelain floor in the kitchen and it doesn't touch the grout at all and anything other than the lightest of dried spillages need a good scrub to come up.

Needless to say the damn thing has now broken thanks to all the scrubbing you have to do with it to get it to actually clean rather than just polish! I'm am looking for a better model to replace it with.

Oh and not sure why but now it leaves streak everywhere on my lovely floor, although it didn;t when new about six months ago!

I am currently awaiting delivery of Lakeland's own brand steam mop. It was £60 but no idea if it is any good yet. It has rave reviews on their site...

I have Lakeland one. Like someone up thread was saying I was expecting something amazing given the rave reviews. However it doesn't really do well on dried on stuff as you can't scrub at it like you can with a mop. On the plus side it is much much quicker to clean the floor now and much more hygenic.

Vax S2 (Bare Floor Pro) here, and I love it, has tackled everything my 2yr DS has stuck to the floor so far...

Analogue, bring it back to asda and they should refund you. Mine broke too, think a lot of them do. I got refund 6 months after purchase, no receipt. I am also watching thread as need a new one!

Does anyone have an X5, are they any good ?

I like my Lakeland one. It's not great at getting stuck on stuff off the floor, but it steams well and seems sturdy. Oh, and the floor is A LOT cleaner!
