Help me get my house in order in 2 days...

... well, it's a little more than that, but that's the main free time I have...

We've just moved house, I've just finished a university semester and things are a little chaotic. And my parents arrive in a month (to stay for 2 months!)

Next week, DD2 is still 'full time' (3 days) at crèche. After that she drops down to 2 mornings only. So I will need to get as much done next week as I can (and I will probably spend a day looking after myself a little)

So, 2 days to get the bulk of the house organised (it's about halfway there). It'll just be me from 9 to 3 every day. Is it doable? How would I approach it (bearing in mind I'm a bit of a housework dunce but love the idea of organising systems :) )

Or would someone like to come and do it for me while I sip cocktails? No? Was worth a try Grin

Easily doable. Start from the top of the house and work your way down leaving bathrooms and kitchen until last.

First step in any room is to put stuff away, if it doesn't belong in there put it where it dust belong. Take a bin bag with you and throw out as you go too. When it's tidy, change bedding, then Hoover, then dust.

Ok, I can see how that will work, with the added bonus of keeping me away from the temptation of the tv until later.

But what about the boxes in the garage? Put them in the right room first, then start working my way down? Or leave it to the end and put stuff away into theoretically clean rooms.

I suspect if I don't have a plan it won't get done at all & I'll be stressing for the next month..,

(Thanks!)
