Rugs....help me find the perfect rug

So many rugs out there I don't know where to begin....so where to start?

would like 5 x 7 foot, either cream, mulberry, plain or patterned

Bit more info needed please. Do you like thick, textured rugs with loops or deep pile, or prefer tightly woven? Wool or a mix?
Do you have any other patterns and colours in the room the rug needs to work with, like curtains, cushions, soft furnishings etc?
Do you have a budget?

We have this rug in our front room, in the greys/blues, but it comes in lots of colours. John Lewis do really nice rugs and ours still looks good after a year of wear from Dd dancing on it, and Ds playing trains and smearing toast on it! Ours is the colour focus for the room, and other things were then bought to match the tones, although we've kept it quite neutral too.
