Tumble dryer

I've inherited an old tumble dryer which rolls up big items so they don't dry unless I keep shaking them out and putting them back. How do I dry anything bigger than a hand towel?

Outdoors, over an airer/radiator, or carry on doing as you're doing. :(

Actually it's less bad with t-shirts and so on if you only half-fill the drier, but bigger items do need hauled out and shaken. It's a PITA but I know of no alternative.

It is said that driers work better with a mixture of large and small things, some thick and some thin. My drier stops and reverses every 15 minutes which is supposed to prevent tangling.

It also seems to happen less if the garrments have been well-spun and are not wet and heavy.

(my) new drier has a much bigger drum than the old one, which presumably also helps.
