Curtain tie backs- old hat?

Have floor length cream curtains in my open plan kitchen/dining/family room.

Currently have plain cream sort of plaited effect tie backs about 2-3 inches wide.

Should I just let the curtains hang straight down or is their a more modern alternative?

I prefer the hang Down look!

Thank you Wentworth- that's what I was thinking.

Yes I inherited my curtains and have ditched the tie backs.
My mother in law has tie back..........along with her dark navy and red tartan carpets!

You can get those big metal knobs that screw into wall and hold curtains to the side. Sort of a push-behind rather than a tie-back
