Oiling a wooden chopping board

I have a couple of wooden chopping boards which get light use (ie no fish or meat). Can I oil them to make them look like new and if so which (edible) oil should I use

I oil mine. Its really good for them. I don't know what the oil is i use as its foreign and i have no idea what it says on the bottle Grin but my sister just uses cheap vegetable oil. she puts it on leaves it all to soak in nicely and then gives it a little wash.

Makes them look lovely

I just use sunflower oil then buff them.

I also use sunflower oil on a piece of kitchen towel.

Olive oil - plenty and let it soak overnight!
