Venetian blinds

Anyone with some pearls of wisdom how to clean them? We inherited them when we bought the house, they are filthy. Cleaned each slat individually before, but don't have the time/inclination to do it again.
I do despise them, but they are doing a job until I find a suitable alternative.

If you cant takethem down and put them in the bath with hot soapy water (havent tried this)close the slats,spray with jif or somesuch, then open and labouriously wipe across each slat starting from the top. This is a horrible job!

Google 'Venetian blind cleaner' & you'll get links to various useful sounding tools. I know Lakeland do a microfibre Venetian blind duster, you can use wet or dry and you can put cloth in washing machine too. Not used it though.

Baby wipes are brilliant for this.
