Dull cutlery

Any tips on how to clean my very dull looking stainless steel cutlery, please.
They have water marks that just won't shift.

TIA

green nylon scourer in hot water and WUL.

I am guessing that you are in a hard water area.

Water is actually very soft here.

I will get scrubbing PigletJohn

Thank you Smile

Line a shallow bowl with foil. Fill it with warm water and bicarb of soda. Drop your cutlery in and swoosh the water about a bit. Leave for ten mins, rinse and polish with a cloth. I saw that on the How Clean is Your House show but have never got round to it.

Bubblemoon

Thanks.

I'm a big fan of bicarb, they look like they need a good soak.

the foil and soda (preferably washing soda) method works on tarnished silver (made of silver)

I've never heard of it used for stainless steel, which does not tarnish in the same way.

Might HCIYH have been cleaning silverware?

Possibly, it was a while ago. Mine is from Argos, so probably not silver eh.

RoomForASmallOne · 09/10/2012 16:23

Mine is definitely not silver Grin

I'll try both, someone else suggested steaming them.

I am without a dishwasher atm and it makes a big difference to the marks.
