does anyone wash pillows in their washing machine ? good idea/not ?

I do. Some go horrible? Some are fine. Wouldn't do it to feather

Use pillow protectors under the pillow cases and wash both regularly (say, weekly) on a 60C wash. Tried washing synthetic stuffed pillows (that say they're machine washable). Result? Lumpy, no amount of 'fluffing' and beating would revive them, took ages to dry... And wish I'd just not bothered an replaced with new ones.
