Brushed cotton / Flannelette Sheets

DS's (4) room is like an ice box during winter so I'm trying to think of ways to keep him warm - without resorting to a oil column heater!!

He is already in flannelette PJ's but with cotton sheets and summer duvet. I'm thinking of going to winter sheets come November and maybe layering another summer weight duvet inner inside his cover or replace current summer weight with winter weight.

Where can I buy flannelette sheets from? I've never seen them around, there are some on ebay but not easy to return if they are rubbish. Would it be better to get another summer weight duvet (that DD can use next year when out of the cot) or just go for the winter weight (can vac store summer weight inner).

Last year I bought some flannelette duvet sets from the Woolworths website. They are really warm and soft and wash well. I think they had some bottom sheets to match too.

I would expect John Lewis. You can also put a pure woollen blanket on top of the mattress and then cover it with the sheet to give extra warmth. He might still get a very cold face though, be careful with sinusitis etc.

Dunelm Mill sell flannelette sheets and I'm sure places like Debenhams would too.

With DD she has a fleece blanket over her but under her lightweight duvet

I bought some flannelette sheets from sainsburys last weekend,they come in cream and white.

Muji have flannel sheets I beleive.

I also have a fitted sheet for my bed which has the usual elasticated corner but the bit you lie on is fleece. I've had it for years so not sure where I got it from but it's great - totally gets rid of that horrible cold feet feeling when you first get into bed.

We get ours from Dunelm mill - we all love a flannelette sheet in this house.

With a winterweight duvet, he'll be fine. You could get a wheat bag to microwave and chuck in his bed before he gets in on really cold nights

Ds1's (5) bedroom is cold. I've just bought a mattress topper from ikea to add a bit if extra warmth.

But when it's really cold (not yet) he has a hot water bottle, which I give him at bedtime and top up when I go to bed.

Flannette sheets are fab. We got ours from Dunelm and they're snugly.

And I always put a blanket tucked in and folded up at the end of his bed in winter. It's folded so he can just pull it up over his quilt if he gets cold.
