brown marks on oven door - outside

Hi the top small oven/grill door has a brown yelow marks on it - i think they are on the outside as if you drop the door down the correponding marks are not there. Its almost as if they're baked on the outside - could it be from the oven below? Anyway how do i get them off? You can't feel the stain as such from the outside its really weird - anyone have any help?

have you tried a brillo pad?

I think it is probably burnt fat smoke coming up from the oven below.

if the door is double-glazed they may be between the panes. If you can find the instruction book it may say how to open for cleaning

Brillo does tend to scratch so I would always try a green scourer first.
