If so how did you do it and did it work well? That's all really! Smile

I dyed my idea corner sofa (think it was karlstead or something) using Dylon washing machine dye. I weighed out the covers and tried to follow the instructions to the letter. It worked really well, the covers were very evenly dyed and it looked like a new sofa. I did need abou 15 packets of dye so it was not that cheap to do.

Ikea not idea!

I did mine but think it was slightly too big to fit and machine and allow dye to spread evenly so a bit of a tied dye effect but f you have a big drum would be OK

I should have said I done mine in five different lots as the cushion covers and the back were all seperate. If its an all in one type cover you could consider using a cold water dye and use your wheelie bin (obviously clean it first). Would be a bit more hassle though.

I've dyed a Karlstad cover, from memory I divided it into 4-5 lots and weighed them (bathroom scales with huge bucket on top then reset) very carefully. had to unpick part of the main loose cover bit to get the weight right, but worth it in the end. Perfect match!
Unfortunately, the sofa is in a sunny bit of the house so it's faded and i need to re-dye it. Not looking forward to it..

I did ours woth dylon and worked well. Since have bought new covers from eBay from a lasy who makes them in all sorts of colours and patterns - reasonably priced and good quality I thought

Sorry that should read lady not lasy!

Thank you all for your replies! Sounds like it should work well....however I like the idea of sara's 'lasy' Wink.....off to have a look at ebay! Otherwise i'll try dying next week!
