Household chores app for Android

I know there's an app for iPhone etc called Home Routines, but is there a good one for Android? Particularly for those chores which are less frequent than daily or weekly.

DH and I are at home equal amounts, and I think we would get more of the chores done if we were being told to do so by an app! rather than me nagging

You could also use a site like Toodledo to set up a custom list with reminders etc - there isn't an Android app released by the Toodledo makers but you can use the mobile site, and it says there are a number of third party apps that make it accessible off-line.

One of the things I like about Toodledo is that you can email tasks in - so say you're at work and you suddenly remember you need to do [x]. If you can't go on to the Toodledo site, you can just email it to to your account and voila.

(A number of other sites have similar functionality, btw, like Remember the Milk).

I have been similarly thinking about how to remind DH of what needs doing (bearing in mind he is the SAHD but has memory problems). I'm thinking of something similar but perhaps on a cheapy tablet in the kitchen or living room where ds will see it, as there is a better chance of him remembering to look there for Instructions From Mum than there is DH.

Chore checklist lite is quite good. You can have lots of different lists, each with a number of sub routines in, and each of theose sub routines with a number of tasks in. Very flexible though not particularly pretty to use, it's straightforward lists.

Those two look good on the link. I like "Do it tomorrow" although it's no good for things you need to do weekly, it's good as a general to do list.

In my experience you need to get something that is very simple and only has features if you find you really need them - otherwise you spend ages programming it in, colour coding it, organising it, setting the alarm etc and no time actually doing it

You can actually set up a lot using the default calendar on android, you can set tasks by day and get them to repeat daily, monthly, weekly, fortnightly, 4-weekly, yearly etc. You can set an alarm, or not. You can set times or just leave it as "all day". If you have the "Daily briefing" app (standard on Samsung, not sure about other makes) then you can set this to appear after your alarm comes on in the morning along with weather and news headlines.

I think I may have tried most of them, but my fav is "check it off". The active widget is good and the reminders pop up in the notification bar. Also one of the few that are recurring tasks. I'd also recommend colournote for list and note making (shopping list etc) also good widgets.

Does an "active" widget eat your battery? I finally caved and got my first android a few months ago but the battery doesn't seem to last more than a day. Some of these apps sound great but I don't want to spend any more time hooked up to the charger!
