Low bed storage

Does anyone have a low bed? We've just bought one and there is not much space to store things underneath. Where the hell do I hide all the crap?? Where do you all put your stuff? Should I just get a storage bed instead?

I've got an Ikea Hemnes bed and it's really low. Never thought about it at the time, but wasn't using the space under the bed anyway, so not really a problem except that I can hardly hoover under it!

I had a low bed from ikea - I got a sliding pull out drawer to stick all my crap under it which worked perfectly!

Are you planning on changing the rest of your furniture? The deal I made with DP (who wanted the low bed) was that if we got it we'd get big wardrobes for storage. That only really made sense though because we'd just moved house and had no bedroom furniture.

How low is low though? Could you fit shallow plastic containers underneath?

I've just had a try, there's 20cm depth underneath and I can get in my plastic storage boxes, which is a relief! I have four of those, think I can get in six or maybe even eight.

The other thing is it cost an arm and a leg, it's this one and in thinking I could get a storage bed and have money spare to buy a cabinet to hide all the other bits.. It's much smaller than our old one an DH is underwhelmed

was gonna say, plastic storage boxes are fab under beds - keeps the dust out.
