Last one a Bosch and lasted years. They all seem to have really really long wash programmes now. I'm stumped what to choose. Something mid-range

I have a Daewoo that I like a lot.

LG with direct drive . You can more or less adjust the programmes to suit yourself.

I just got the cheapest one that had a 'quick wash' button.

It's 6 years old now and still going strong. Programmes are pointless - we only ever use '8' -(mixed colours 40 degrees) or the hot one for the white towels.

I think it's a Whirpool. In case you don't know, a washer fits in the back of a Golf sized car with the seats down. In fact we got the tumbled dryer in a Ka. Saves on waiting in for delivery if you buy one in an actual shop.

I just bought a new one from john lewis - its a zanussi 8kg drum 1400 spin. A cotton wash (8kg) at 40c is 2hr10 but, press the option button ( works in all cycles) and the super quick button lights up and time drops to 55mins! Still a 1400 spin too. Prob not meant to do a full load but i do and clothes are clean. Fastest program seems to be 25mins but thats not got the 1400 spin. Was £389 and im very happy with it - love how it seems to eat laundry!

Meile, not mid range but fantastic value. 10 years old and going strong. Has quick wash we use for most things.
