Muffin Tins

I need to buy some new muffin tins.....

I can see the advantages of the new silicon ones, but do they turn out better cakes?

I don't like them personally, felt like the cakes tasted wrong somehow (may have all been in my head) and according to DH they are harder to wash up I wouldn't know as I won't wash the pots :)
