Cheap and cheerful but it does the job.

No, not me! What have you bought that was cheap and cheerful but perfectly OK? I just bought Morrisson's 69p pesto. It was quite nice, have had better but given the quantities that my kids eat, it'll do. Aldi and Lidl do good cheese and cold meat. Aldi and Lidl pint bottles of cider are 99p and nearly as nice as Thatcher's or Magners.
What else?

Sainsbury's basics frozen white fish - about £2 for enough to feed family of four twice; Poundland waffles (oh the shame - but the kids begged me!) £1 for 8 huge waffles.

Sainsburys basics digestives, about 39p for a big pack. Bought them to use for baking but keep nicking them as they're so nice!

Tescos basics baby bath and shampoo, about 40p per bottle, nice smell and my eczema children's skin is fine.

Lidl free range chicken was cheap and tasted great.

Another mumsnet mum told me to try Sainsburys basics t bags which are fair trade, I am a T-pigs, or PG Tips person but have been converted. 29p for 80 t-bags and taste lovely.

White garlic shaped garlic pot from morrisons £1.50 after looking at lots of trendy scandi websites and not wanting to pay £25 for very similar items

Aldi stuff is better than the cheap "value" ranges from Tesco or Sainsobs, which I am sure they make cheap to discourage anyone from buying it unless they are very hard up.

Aldi jams, marmalades, bread, french baked stuff are first class. Mayo better than Hellmans. WUL and cleaners very good. Good range of cheap beers including big names. Wines sometimes a good one at a low price. Champagne, mince pies, Christmas puddings excellent. Various skin creams.
