Help with decluttering and unpacking please!!

Evening all! Gone from one place to another and we're still bringing stuff over from the old place gradually.

Decided to declutter at new place rather than the old sk now as I'm unpacking I'm faced with all the stuff I should have sorted beforehand.

I am dreadful at being ruthless and want to keep everything - anyone have any tips on how to declutter and unpack?

Given you already have boxes you are started already.

Label boxes up as 'bin', 'charity' & 'keep/put away'

As you unpack a box, put things into one of the 3 boxes.
When one is full, label another one and carry on.

If you have a car, put the full bin ones straight in, when the car is full, drive to the tip.
When they're all gone, put the charity ones in & get rid of them.
Even better if you've 2 cars, Bin in one, Charity on the other.

Don't faff with Freecycle or eBay if you want to just get on with decluttering. Do it if you truly know you will actually list the stuff and get rid of it.

Almost envious as I reckon I could get rid of tonnes in your position, sitting with it all around in 'homes' makes it much harder to see, let alone sift through

I'm watching this too. We moved into our new house 2 weeks ago, and there is still stuff/unpacked boxes everywhere - I don't know where to start!

If you can, define one room as the 'box room' - put all boxes in there & only take things out if you know where they're going.

Easier said than done though.

If you did label up boxes before you moved then they can probably be put into that room but depends if you think there'll be stuff in them that you want to get rid of?

There is no spare space for a box room but everything is labelled so it's easy ish to find what we need!

I go back to work Tuesday so got to get lots done tomorrow!

I did a few boxes, mainly clothes and work stuff but will carry on at the weekend :)
